You are reading PowerBlock Dumbbell Review: Let me show you the shorten review about this product before you check it out.
One of the few adjustable dumbbell sets on the market that expand to meet the needs of hardcore bodybuilders. In fact, the PowerBlock Dumbbells are one of the more versatile pieces of exercise equipment you’ll find anywhere for strength and resistance training. Instead of having to purchase several fixed-weight dumbbells and a large wall rack to keep them in, you can have the same thing in one product.
Changing weights with the PowerBlock is just like changing plates on a barbell which is why this model is preferred by bodybuilders. Simply change the selector pin to the desired weight and the appropriate plates will be added or removed to the dumbbell when you pick it back up. Once the pin is placed in the slot you just pick it up with your new weight and you’re ready to go. Not only is the PowerBlock system easy to use, but it’s also great for limited space work-out areas, and as mentioned above, the cost is considerably less.
The PowerBlock design has an ergonomically padded grip to protect your wrists during movements. It’s well balanced and easy to use through an entire range of motion – no matter what the movement is. Each dumbbell can be adjusted from a low of 5 lbs to a max weight of 45 lbs and can be adjusted in five-pound intervals giving you eighteen dumbbell sets in one. These are real free weights – perfect for almost any strength training regimen you prefer.

Some buyers prefer the PowerBlock’s selector pin over the Selecttech dial system because it requires less visual attention to the weight change you’re selecting. Just change the pin location and you’re done making it one step instead of two. This model is somewhat upgradeable in that you can purchase a heavier handle adding an extra 20 lbs to the total weight of each dumbbell.
Affordable – the price is almost $100 less than the Selecttech 552. They don’t rattle around when you’re exercising and they feel solid compared to other adjustable models. Also, the padded hand grip is comfortable and easy on the wrists allowing overhead triceps extensions without any discomfort or awkward feel.
Changing the selector pin is a bit difficult when the dumbbells are on the ground. To take advantage of the smooth pin operation you really need to use the stand. Another drawback of the selector pin is that it must be inserted properly – otherwise, there is a risk of the plate coming off as you lift the dumbbells up. There’s not much in the way of negatives with PowerBlock. They’re less money, well-built and have hundreds of excellent reviews on Amazon.
